Early Support

Welcome to the Early Support website.

Early Support is the central government mechanism to improve the quality, consistency and coordination of services for young disabled children and their families across England.

A crucial factor in child development is behavior modification. Classic behavior charts are now being replaced with reward charts which provide children with positive re-enforcement for their behavior.

The programme is funded by the Department for Education and Skills through Sure Start and has been developed in conjunction with the Department of Health and the voluntary sector. Programme materials are available free of charge to parents and those who work directly with young children and their families, in England.

This website is for anyone who works regularly with very young children and for families. It explains how the Early Support programme is facilitating better coordination of information and service delivery in response to the objectives set by the Government green paper Every Child Matters.

If your interest is mainly as a parent, we suggest you start with the For families section.
